Goal

The primary objective of the hotel is to provide tourists and guests with a tranquil escape from the chaotic world. While there are other tourist spots and entertainment venues outside the hotel, offering them within the premises adds convenience and a sense of ease for the guests. Vela Mayor Palace doesn’t just offer accommodation and dining; it aims to provide a complete luxurious hotel experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in an extraordinary journey of escapism. With the assistance of Vela Mayor, guests can expect the best travel experience possible.

Philosophy

The design philosophy revolves around creating an experiential space. The designers aim to convey the design’s objectives by showcasing interior visuals that embody the design concept, comfort, services, and sustainable tourism, all to enhance the overall user experience. Some travelers prioritize the places they visit, often overlooking the significance of their accommodation. However, there are also those who view their lodging as an integral part of their overall experience. Luxury hotels that offer services that cater to their desire for a luxurious experience attract such guests without any doubt. The hotel’s building design draws inspiration from the mainsail of a boat, featuring asymmetrical triangular forms. The materials used for the building’s facade include steel, concrete, wood, and plants, all of which contribute to a luxurious and exclusive appearance.

Despite the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover,” appearances do matter, and a luxurious facade attracts customers who seek opulence and exclusivity. Fortunately, this hotel not only impresses with its exterior but also lives up to its luxury and beauty on the inside. Vela Mayor Palace is a luxury hotel in Mandaue City, offering exceptional services and experiences to visitors and travelers. Inspired by the concept of a “merchant’s paradise,” the interiors incorporate waveforms and a sense of openness. This design approach enhances the visual aspects of the building, aligning with the perception theory.

According to Richard Gregory’s constructivist theory of perception, perception is an active cognitive process. It combines sensory data with stored knowledge and expectations to form our perception. However, this theory suggests that our visual perception may be incomplete, leading us to make assumptions about objects, such as heights, motion, and distance.
